During the 1980s and 90s I produced two series of paintings. an abstract series and one with realism and "magical realism," These were included often in juried shows. Later, I operated 2 artist co-op galleries, one in Key Largo and a second in an Italianate historical mansion in Buffalo's Arts district while also publishing art with national retailers on clothing. 

"Archetypes"

Beginning in 1985 in Coconut Grove Florida and Miami Beach, and continuing  into the mid-90s, the Archetype series of large abstract paintings combined several key themes through as metaphors. Architectural geometries at in a dynamic contravention of action painting, gestural marks, and the calligraphic impulse. Longing and a sense of adventure in the tropical light and nocturnal echoes of ocean waves were a constant undertone of life. Select images were also made into lithographs.
